Beware of fraud cases from China trade
Before Thanksgiving day, Aliuser met a cheerful buyer who was able to narrowly escape from a scram, recovering US9,000 from a mainland supplier. The buyer certainly has something to celebrate with turkey and pumpkin pies in the last two days.
The incident started when a staff of the mainland supplier disappeared with the money after he got it in his personal account. He did not deliver the products as promised of course. The buyer who got ripped off by the supplier devoted all her effort to getting back her money. And this time she’s very lucky to have her money back.
What the buyer learn from this incident in the future transaction?
- Deliver money only after you check the products
- Send money to corporate account not personal cheque account
- Get references from existing customers as much as possible
- Try a competent and reputable third-party service provider of inspection and audit services if possible to verify the production factory plant is same as the registered audited factory address
In the meantime, Alibaba also announced a list of banned members in October in order to help small medium buyers, traders and suppliers to buy safely from China.
