Foxconn eyes on B2C market in China
Allured by a strong growth of Business to Consumer (B2C) marketplace in mainland China, Hong-Kong-listed Foxconn Technology Group (HKSE2038) 富士康sets its sail to take an active part in the fledging market. Small medium buyers and traders will have one more channel to look at.
Aliuser yesterday took a quick look of the soon-to-be launched eCommerce site, efeihu.com, which displays a huge opening page with headline ” We have launched on December 8, please register on www.efeihu.com”.
Foxconn Technology Group is essentially a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, owned by well-known entrepreneurs and billionaire Terry Gou (郭台铭). It is reported that it has formed a eCommerce department to implement the plan and start testing the platform internally.
Foxconn has business with Sony, Samsung and LG, the world’s top three LCD TV Brand. Aliuser started to recognize the company when it strikes a deal with Apple on the iPhone project. Its share price at the beginning of 2009 was traded at HK$3.03 but closed at HK$9.00 at the end of 2009.
Foxconn employees have said that the majority of products available on the site will be Foxconn’s products.
